About our paint correction service
Our paint correction service is one of our most popular at Definition Detailing. We offer mobile paint correction from our base here in Leeds throughout all of Yorkshire, so no matter whether your car is parked at home, at work or out and about, we can restore your car to a better than showroom shine.
Our paint correction service varies from vehicle to vehicle, the sky is the limit and you can have your paint as shiny and as flawless as you wish!
We start our paint correction service with a deep clean of your cars paintwork. The paint is given a full soak with a snow foam to soften any dirt, the snow foam is then rinsed to remove any loose dirt from the paint work. The car is then given a full wash with a quality shampoo and wash mitt using the two-bucket method. After the wash the car is then rinsed again to remove all shampoo from the paint surface.
It is important that we take as much decontamination from your paint as possible with as little contact with your paint as possible. A chemical decontamination uses a mixture of specially formulated chemicals to remove tar and metal fallout particles that are embedded in to your cars paint.
It is important to remove as much contamination as possible before using the clay bar to minimise any marring on your cars paint. This will involve numerous stages of chemical decontamination prior to any kind of paint correction.
Once the chemical decontamination has taken as many contaminants from your paint as possible, it is time to use a clay bar on the paint. A clay bar is used to glide over the paint and grabs any pieces of contamination and pulls them out of the cars paint. This is used to create the best possible base for paint correction.
Once your paint is completely clean and free of contamination, one option available to you is a light paint correction. The light paint correction is usually a single stage or possibly double stage machine polish. This is an extremely light polish designed to remove minor swirls and leave your car looking extremely glossy. Even though you cannot see them all the time, swirls and small scratches will dull the shine of your car, the light paint correction just enhances what is already there and really brings out the shine and colour of your paint.
The full paint correction is for customers who either want to go the extra mile or remove deep scratches and swirl marks. The full paint correction varies from car to car, we offer wet sanding to remove any "Orange Peel" that will be present in your paint, this will also remove all but the deepest scratches too, leaving a completely flat surface to polish and because your paint is now free of orange peel, once it is polished the reflection will be superb.
For customers who do not want wet sanding as part of their paint correction package, a full paint correction will consist of a colour matched touch up paint applied to any scratches or stone chips, flattened off and then a full machine polish to the vehicle, generally consisting of around 5 stages, each getting progressively lighter. The full paint correction is the ultimate detailing package for people who want their car to look better than new and be a real head turner!
As standard all cars are protected after polishing with a quality wax, this adds some shine and also protects the paint to a certain extent from iron fallout and road tar.
The other option to protect your vehicle is a ceramic coating, Definition Detailing are approved installers for numerous ceramic coating brands. These coatings last around 4 years and offer the ultimate protection and scratch resistance to lock in the improvements from your paint correction package.
